Located in Kisii County, western Kenya, Kitutu Chache South Constituency lies between 0°30’ and 1°0’ South and 34°38’ and 35°0’ East. The constituency is bordered by several other constituencies including Karachuonyo to the East, Bonchari to the South, Kitutu Chache North to the North, Kitutu Masaba to the North West and several others that form its boundaries.

The terrain in Nyakoe like the rest of Kitutu Chache South is hilly with many ridges and valleys. The area has several rivers that flow from east to west and connect to permanent waterways that drain into Lake Victoria.The area has fertile soil that supports various agricultural activities. The highland equatorial climate has a bimodal rainfall pattern with long rains from February to June and short rains from September to early December. This climate combination of enough rainfall and moderate temperatures makes the area suitable for growing tea, coffee, maize, beans, finger millet, potatoes, bananas and groundnuts. Also the area is conducive for dairy farming which is an important economic activity for the locals.
